Michael Bockorny Chief Executive Officer

Michael joined the Aberdeen Development Corporation in August of 2014. He previously worked for Primrose Retirement Communities and the Northern State University Foundation. In addition, Michael co-founded a construction development, rental development and a venture capital firm which focuses on real estate sales and development. He holds a BS in Business Management from Northern State University and an MM from the University of Mary. Michael is responsible for communicating the ADC’s mission, overall direction, and leading the development and implementation of the organization’s strategy.

Heidi Barclay Vice President of Finance

Heidi is originally from Minnesota but has enjoyed living in South Dakota for the past few years. Prior to joining the Aberdeen Development Corporation in November of 2014, she worked at Colorado State University and the University of Minnesota. Heidi holds a BBA degree in Accounting and Management from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and an MBA from St. Thomas University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the ADC she is responsible for overseeing the financial position of the organization, including the budget process, variance reporting, and financial forecasting.

Cheryl Olson Executive Assistant

A native of Aberdeen, Cheryl has been with the Development Corporation since 1994. She previously worked for First Bank Trust, N.A. Cheryl handles the day-to-day accounting and financial preparations, oversees scheduling of meetings, and greets all personnel and visitors to the Development Corporation.


Jill Vining Director of Training and Educational Programs

Jill is originally from North Dakota. Before joining the ADC, she worked in the Admissions Office at Northern State University for over 14 years. During her employment with NSU she was a secretary and an admissions counselor working with non-traditional and transfer students. Jill earned a Bachelor’s degree from NSU in August 2014. At the ADC she is responsible for the scheduling of classes and day-to-day operations of The Training Place.
