Rich Ward is a dynamic entrepreneur and civic leader with a dedication to community-focused growth and sustainable development. Early in his career, Rich assisted in establishing several retail mobile phone stores during the transformative introduction of smartphones, positioning himself as a forward-thinker in emerging technologies. He later transitioned to medical device sales, where he honed skills in strategic growth and customer engagement. These experiences laid a strong foundation for his later role at World Classrooms, an educational tour company founded by his father.
For nearly a decade, Rich was instrumental in shaping World Classrooms' vision, operations, and scaling efforts. He helped streamline systems and drove the company’s growth, enabling it to serve tens of thousands of students and parents from over a thousand schools.
Expanding his entrepreneurial pursuits, Rich launched an electric scooter rental company in 2021 to enhance urban mobility in Aberdeen. In July 2024, he was elected to the Aberdeen City Council. As a liaison to the Aberdeen Parks, Recreation & Forestry Board, he advocates for projects that enrich public spaces and recreational amenities, aligning with his vision for a vibrant, family-friendly community in Aberdeen. His commitment to local economic growth, infrastructure enhancement, and youth programs reflects his drive to build a resilient and flourishing city.
Rich’s deep trust in God and strong faith are central to his life and work, guiding his decisions and dedication to service. He and his wife, Amber, are active members of Aldersgate Methodist Church, where he contributes to the media team and serves on various boards. Together, they are raising three children—Jamison, Kingston, and Willow—who participate in sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, and gymnastics, while also developing a love for music. Family time and community events with friends and loved ones are central to the Wards’ lives.
