Tim Hanigan is joined the Aberdeen Development Corporation in October 2024 as the CEO. Previously, he was on the board of directors for 6 years and served as chair the last 2 years on the board. He is looking to continue the work of the Aberdeen Development Corporation to help move the community forward. Focusing his time on business recruitment and expansion, Tim leverages his industry experience to support the mission of the ADC to recruit, retain, expand, and provide entrepreneurial support to enhance the economic opportunities in the Aberdeen area.
He also owns of Prairie Tool Company, which was originally founded in 1989. Since that time, Prairie Tool Company has grown into a trusted partner for molding solutions and machining services. Tim earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from South Dakota State University and an MBA in Operations and Supply Chain Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
Outside of his corporate roles, Tim is deeply invested in the community. As Vice President of the Aberdeen Hardball Association and founder of the Aberdeen Sharks youth baseball program, which was recently rolled into the larger Smitty’s program. Additionally, he serves as the chair of the South Dakota Manufacturing and Technology Solutions (SDMTS) advisory board, and as a member of the Sanford Hospital advisory board.
