"The Business Pitch competition has been a game changer for Minds Matter, opening doors I never knew existed and taking my business to the next level. The $10,000 sponsored by the Aberdeen Development Corporation has accelerated Minds Matter's growth and provided the financial ability to hire and train a new therapist as well as move into a larger space. But more importantly, it has shown me that our community believes in this vision. It has given me the confidence to dream even bigger, so we can continue improving brain health and combating dementia in our community.
When I founded Minds Matter, I had an abundance of passion but lacked in business knowledge. Thanks to the startup programming provided by the Northern Innovation and Startup Center and the business planning support from the Aberdeen Development Corporation as well as Kelly Weaver at the Small Business Development Corporation, that passion has been transformed into a thriving business. The ADC and the Northern Startup Center have continued to support Minds Matter beyond the Business Pitch competition by continuing to help me grow my "business brain" as well as offering assistance with business planning, financial guidance and providing me valuable connections. While I brought the love and know-how for improving my clients' lives, the unwavering support from the ADC and NSC has provided the structure and resources to help Minds Matter grow and better serve the Aberdeen community."
