Kendra Hinz joined the Aberdeen Development Corporation (ADC) in January 2023 as the Marketing and Special Projects Director. She splits her time between the ADC and the Northern Innovation & Startup Center (NISC), supporting both organizations through marketing, programming, and entrepreneurial development.
At the ADC, she is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating programs with the NISC while enhancing the marketing of economic development initiatives across the organization. She set up and managed the Freedom Works Here workforce recruitment program in Aberdeen, helps coordinate the Internship Network each summer, and supports additional community and business-focused events throughout the year.
At the NISC, Kendra serves as the Program Coordinator, where she leads entrepreneurial programming, workshops, and founder support. She also leads the organization’s marketing efforts.
Kendra helps coordinate two major annual events cohosted by both organizations—the Aberdeen Business Pitch Competition and the Technology & Entrepreneurship Summit—bringing together entrepreneurs, innovators, and regional partners.
A native of Roscoe, Kendra graduated from Northern State University in May 2023 with degrees in Management Information Systems and Business Management, along with minors in Entrepreneurship and Computer Science. During her time at Northern, she held multiple leadership positions in student organizations, worked as a Tech Fellow at the campus Technology Services, and previously interned for the Small Business Development Center, where she assisted in running the BIG Idea Competition.
